Even Rat offers a half dozen variation of their Rat. Most gourmet pedals put one or two distinct options in their Rat. But what if you put every damn one in one pedal?
Let's start with the layout. First you get gain and tone, Next there is a variable resistor control, add a 'Body' knob which gives you a serious boost of gain on the lows. Level of course, then Blast which is boost level of output. Rotary which gives you multiple choices of clipping diodes, Dead cool as every click covers one or more of the other makers Rat pedals. Putting all these functions on pots lets you dial the amounts of anything & everything instead of switches with a fixed amount.
CONCLUSION__
I am impressed that unlike other builders the whole reason to get a Rat is not buried in pointless features that are often dumb downs that that try and send to turn the pedal into a Tube Screamer. If it is called a Rat it better be in your face or why not just buy the $60 Ratt II that is.
