OVERDRIVE- SOLODALLAS The ComanDrive 65___NEW___ Secret Sauce-in-a-Box

SD SOLODALLAS
The ComanDrive 65 (CD65)
$345.00 USD
The video goes into all the detail. The big deal for most buyers
is this unit is the Preamp part of Angus Young's of AC/DC fame
wireless system. It changed his sound so much that he recorded
all those famous early recordings with his wireless, never a cable.
It literally exaggerates the dynamic range before compressing
the sound. The result is the sound is sustained but never
squashed.
    CONCLUSION ___
It is damn pricy but it has a preamp, a
compressor and a compandor all in the
same pedal. Each is set to work as one
perfect circuit. A near impossible task
since a compandor is a device made to
do the exact opposite as a compressor.

  1. The Schaffer Replica pedal from them looks more like Angus' sound. This pedal sounds good too, and it's only $249 from the SoloDallas website. I think the dude in the video was trying to sell his class with the pedal raising the price to 345.

  2. I have been following this a few years and it is true this pedal is the most accurate to the one Angus had. The thing is we tend to think these days that even a one guy operation sells 50 or a hundred pedals at minimum over a year. With these pedals only 7 were made. They were made to order and the one I seen open I froze the best pic to count the parts and there were 30 0r 40 on the top circuit card with 2 more cards under it the same size. There could be 80 parts or more in it. The one Angus had was designed for a microphone and Angus had it modified to work 3 times because it was so noisy. When compared I thought the best sounding one was the mini. Not because it sounded like the AC/DC sound but just because was a good sounding OD. It went on sale twice but both times I was broke, LOL. At the first sale it was only $80.00 USD.
