In the 70's a company called Interfax made the Harmonic Percolator. The idea was to do what others did years later and to take a fuzz that is all odd order harmonics and add even order harmonics. A tube amp creates this naturally. Later using JFET transistors which work like tubes this became common. It was accomplished but not on a natural blend like tubes and so it sounded a bit synthetic. On the plus side it had it's own cool vibe. It was short lived. It looks like a piece of 70's office equipment. I am sure that did not help.
The layout is level, bias(brutality), tone (hi cut) and gain(harm).
CONCLUSION
A cool alternative to the 'same old'.
