DELAY- SEYMOUR DUNCAN Vapor Trail Deluxe ...classic analog delay with modern features

 SEYMOUR DUNCAN VAPOR TRAIL DELUXE
$220.00 USD
The original and still made Vapor Trail delay is a very good remake of the best of the classic delays of the past. Why buy an analog delay if you have a digital? Why not just stay with digital if you are just buying your first delay. You may of heard that analog delays have a very nice warm sound. Well they do but to me it is NOT their best feature. A digital delay is a clone of your guitars sound. In application it can create a confusing sound because one's ear can not tell what is your guitar and what is the delayed signal. Yes this can be used for a good effect but often you just want a sweet and soft echo to play a guitar solo or create a near reverb type mood and a good analog delay is perfect.
CONCLUSION
It can not be faulted for its sound or what it does.
But if you just need a conventional analog delay with
a great sound check out the NUX DCP-03. it is clone of
the old Ibanez right down to using the old Panasonic chips.
At $60.00 USD it is a nobrainer buy for a basic delay pedal.

  1. Have you opened up the Nux delay to confirm it has the old Panasonic chips and not the reissue XVIVE chips?

  2. No but Panasonic has released the old chips now that they have big enough market. It is the go to chips for everyone now. There is a company in Germany I think they called DDR going around to all the chip makers and making big enough orders to get all kinds of transistors etc remade. There is a big market now for new transistor radio's preamps for turntables etc. They are paying several dollars a chip but gourmet makers of vintage consumer sh@t and pedal makers will pay $20 for a chip that only 2 years ago they thought a $5 dusty vintage one was expensive.Solid state parts are not like tubes you do not need expensive machinery to make it. You can for the first time in 20 years now get old Vox amp parts from them.Companies like Mooer make 2000 pedals a day. So ordering 8000 transistors just for a day times one year and they are buying cheap. The new Joyo stuff has Japanese,German and American parts. Keep in mind the population is 10 times what it was in the late 20th century when the old stuff was new. Add to that small country's worldwide have progressed enough that there is even a good Rock scene in places like Turkey and players there buy good sh@t . Maybe less like one new Gibson where as I have 9 guitars. Only about 20% of the made in China get exported. Chinese players buy the other 80%. Keep in mind in the US a kid was born today that will be as smart as Einstein. But in China today 10 kids were born to be just as smart.Big business is at least smart enough to keep their mouth shut about how well they are really doing and politicians sell you gloom and doom messages to cover their ass. because
