ALP CUSTOM PEDAL RED DEVIL DISTORTION Oh my! ....the twists and turns this pedal took me.It just made me more curious and more curious.
ALP are a small company in Indonesia that make
a couple of dirt boxes and the usual modulation pedals.
Since their market seems to be mostly local they have a
customer with very little money but high demands.
The pedal has a very good range and with a rather impressive 3 way EQ. you can get everything from a decent low mid sound right up to a Metal sound.
When push really hard you get lots of great overtones but no fizz. The lows are full but no mush.
I think the basic MXR style box and general appearance
shows they even have the sense to not try and be too clever with the graphics.
There is only one good video. It is taken on an I phone by a guy who really loves the pedal. Maybe like me he feels ALP are in a tough spot with product that many that buy the mid priced pedals not knowing about them or how to break thru.
CONCLUSION
Not bad. YES? YES it is pretty damn good.
