OVERDRIVE- MUIR AUDIO DESIGNS Silicon Steel Overdrive ...transformers do ???

 MUIR AUDIO DESIGN
SILICON STEEL
  overdrive
$265.00 USD
The electric guitar started life being amplified by tubes so the
vocabulary like any instrument was developed by a their tone.
In short a tuba does not play violin parts, it just wouldn't sound
good, lol. The tubes themselves distorting the harmonics is the
big factor but it is the transformers especially the huge heavy
one on the output that is the icing on the cake.
It it is not a big jump to create that harmonic kick in the butt
putting a small transformer in a pedal to add more harmonic
boost. Rupert Neve put them in his famous boards for just this
purpose. In fact one for every channel to vary the crunch.
Muir's first pedal was a transformer pre/EQ before he added the
extra gain found in a pedal.
The layout is Volume, Gain, Treble and Bass.
     CONCLUSION __
If it were not for the transformer this pedal would
be near totally transparent. Love it or not???
It is damn effective.

Bogner had Rupert Neve design him the Lynhurst Compressor.
Amazing but at $100 more than a Keeley it did not sell at all and
was discontinued after just one year but was offered for3 years
to get rid of the pedals. Too bad as it is totally 110% killer!!!
