It is basically Wamplers 'best of'. It needs not a manual
or window as you do not need extensive programming.
The sounds are nailed with what works for a Pro at a gig.
This is a pedal for a board, not a bookcase. Except for
tap tempo and 8 places to keep your sounds, that's it.
CONCLUSION ___
My kind of pedal. I am a singer, song writer and above all a player. I can program a Moog Analog Synth from scratch so that ends any contemptuous superiority from those that feel I just can not cut it with tech. 99% of guys who have highly programable gear spend hours to get a sound that sounds like a pre-set in a good pedal that hasn't
any programmability, 😇.
Hi mr Paul! I have the Source audio collider and i think they are very alike (almost the same) as far as features go.
ReplyDeleteSource Audio make very,very high quality gear. I have their EQ. When the Collider came out it was 5 years ago at the start of 'who makes the best Shoegaze and Star Wars sounds' So it was the best of those sounds from other 2 pedals. It is what I think of as a bookshelf pedal. You can make entertaining sounds for hours but you will unlikely make what an audience that are not players come for. They come to hear some tunes that stick in their head hours after they heard them. They do not get in the shower and hum out warbles and swishes. These sounds are like a sauce that just a little makes a musical meal just a bit better. BUT? They are designed to make a meal of the sounds. It is like the tail wagging the dog. The pedal tells the player what they can or can not play. I myself may write a tune on a Martin with lyrics etc. When I translate that to electric I can not have a G note with a tail landing on top of the G flat I am playing. I am not rewriting the tune to keep the pedal happy. ;-)
ReplyDeleteBasically Wampler said it himself. He made the pedal for himself. He plays cover tunes in several bands. Those bands never need the eltro, wiggly searing sideway sounding beer fart echo or reverb sound on any tunes they do. In short many of the reverbs and delays etc were designed for an audience of one. They were not designed for communal listening. There are 2 exceptions. The MXR Layers. You can set it up to follow your tune but you have to learn to change the sounds with your foot. When done write you can literally orchestrate your tune by having it follow the chord changes. The other is the Strymon Cloudburst you can have it play a faux string ensemble along to the chord changes.
Hello!Ok it can do very ambient but it can do very normal sounds as well though..It has the same effects as the wampler without too much deep editing. Cheers!
