If this Art & Lutherie guitar was made by Martin you could not afford it
it certainly would not be hand made in America.
A&L are Canadian company. This is designed to be played live in a band
and to be recorded with 100% pro results.
It has hand made by luthiers not booted out on an assembly line.
How do they do this and stay in biz and still make it  in North America.
Well in a sense they did not stay in biz???

It is one of 6 companies now owned by Godin who have a unique business model.
The original company is left to make what they want how they want
with no interference or dumbing down ...and Godin takes care of
all the world wide distribution and marketing.
Godin make more guitars than Gibson USA and Fender USA
They are the biggest maker of guitars made on the North American continent.
Their quality control makes all others look like they make junk.
One clever secret is that the Godin factory is in the middle of 
a Northern Canadian forest.
Miles of quality wood that can literally
be hand chosen at relatively cheap prices.
So they get great prices for wood for all their companies and 
have a hands on in exactly what wood they actually get.
Most of all Godin employees are French Canadian
who come from families that have been in the 'wood' business
for in some cases over 100 year plus.
So even the janitor can tell the difference between a good piece of
wood and crap!
Listen guys this sounds nuts! But! You just can not make this sh@t up.

Bottom line ...this guitar blows my Martin
which was 3 times the price out of the water.
Yes it is top of my short list!!!
