It makes for a cool crushing and nasty distortion that gasps
out it's sound.

also has a great sag but theirs is a dead on clone of what a Marshall pushed past nasty gives you. In short the Plasma goes way over what an amp would do.

This will have it's place but it is not going to get to far past a gimmick. You can not write a tune and say the Plasma pedal will sound great on the verse etc. Because it won't.
A lot of pedals now make such a dramatic sound that if you can use it once or twice in the night and after that it become just plain 'corny'. Once is cool twice is OK and 3 times it is tiresome for the audience to hear.
At $425.00 USD you can buy a serviceable MIM used Fender so how sensible is it to buy the thing???
It might be more useful than suggested. I've used a fuzz factory clone as a lead tone for a whole album. As shrill as it is, it ended up sitting well with the synth heavy songs. It became the signature guitar thing and informed my playing. The plasma pedal might do that for certain people. I could see it being used as a core sound for some lofi, stoner, indie, insert label here.. As for the price... Yeah, that's steep. I'm intrigued.
