An all J-Fet low to a medium gain pedal. J-fet transistors often just called FET's are the closest thing to a tube.
Rothwell have been around since 1987 making primarily very high end home audio products.
They have for half that time been making pedals too.
They use the same high end audiophile components for both.
Their product prices are ridiculously low for the quality of both build and components. I do not think they 'need' us players to keep the company going. The guys there just love doing this sh_t. lol
The pedal is so crisp and clean with the gain down that it kicks up your clean sound by double.
You get that same glassy clean even with the gain up to 'Brutal'. Boosting the gain automatically tighten the pedal.
Actually this sounds a lot like a LANEY amp
Tony Iommi's (of Black Sabbath) preferred choice. How cool is that!
You have a switch that changes the mids between a nice boost or a useful scoop as well.
