All of 6 Degrees FX are point to point hand wired pedals using premium quality parts.
So this is no toy.

The pedal is based on the Pro Co Rat. The Rat was the first pedal to use FET transistors. Pre dating the Tube Screamer by about a year.
It ushered in the first OD/Distortion pedal because until then there were really only Fuzz pedals.

It is similar in so much as it uses a filter for a tone control. The filter does give you the basic blueprint of a Rat's sound...but the Rat is a very, very much harsher pedal. You can also switch to silicon or germanium transistors...so it gives you 3 very distinct sounds. It really is 3 different pedals in one box
It is fat, full and warm. I would never have
thought of this pedal being based on the Rat
if 6 Degrees were not so up front about it.

I can not help loving that huge mid range boost.
Not my first choice for an OD ...but I would find lots of ways to use a pedal like this.
If you have the bases covered with your current OD's and want something different that really kicks some serious butt ...then I would have this on your short list.
