CNC & PLEK MACHINES....the computer bot is making your guitar ..or why you are getting ripped off by US guitar manufacturers

THE BIG CON

American manufacturers are selling guitars at different price points. The more you pay the better the guitar. At one time this quite valid The guitars had better materials and there was a lot more hand work put in the guitar.
BUT.. now a wood body plank can be put on a CNC table and before your very eyes a router drops on the guitar and within a very short time...a computer running the machine cuts out the body with every hole or cavity carved into it with perfection.
Same for the neck.
After the neck is made next comes the Plek machine which levels the frets with precision.

So what's left. sanding and a finish.

The electronics !
Well folks the difference in making one pickup over another is zip The cost of parts...maybe $5.00 tops. Pots, switches and wiring ...maybe $10 to $15.

Check out Sidecar...for a break down on the prices of that wonderful 'tone wood' LOL

All parts together can not be over a couple of hundred ..$300.00 tops for the very best wood.

So...why is a Les paul Std. just shy of $3000.00 USD

Need I say more?

I was talking today to a Chinese manufacturer that just took possession of the first CNC machine in China.

LOOK OUT WORLD!!!!
