MY MONTHLY RANT

The Black Friday deals sucked as usual! No blowouts! As for Oct. all we got were a couple of new Tube Screamers. I am sure we all needed another one of those!!!

NOVEMBERS BEST

Listen up guys! November was great. We got a couple of great new Tube 

Screamers. 

The TWA Source Code OD designed by the original guy himself , Susumu 

Tamura and the Warm Audio Tube Squealer. All 3 Screamers in one 

compact box!!! The 808, TS9 and TS10!!!

WHATS WITH XMAS ? 

I ordered an Xmas gift early in case of problems with inventory or overly busy transportation etc. screwing it up. It had a long way to come but arrived in a day and half. That tells me no one bought just a couple of days ago over Thanksgiving when things were cheap and should be arriving now. Everyone is broke and I mean everyone. It is not just a figure of speech.

MR BLACK JDS-50 OVERDRIVE

Its a MIAB that's been out for 8 years. Very much a JTM45 vibe 

with a biting attack that's killer for strumming with its great 

definition. I love it the most when I stack a Fuzz on it for those 

classic late 60's sounds that Page, Beck and others gave us.

CALINE PURE SKY OVERDRIVE

This is itself, is 11 years old. It is Caline's take on the V.1 Timmy. 

It totally nails it!!! The Timmy is like the Klon. Version one of it 

is beyond killer and things added later like excess gain buried 

what made it great. I use mine as an always on clean boost. 

I give it a bit of a scoop with the gain barely on. It makes my 

amp go from basic factory standard to some gourmet amp 

that sells for twice the price.

MXR Custom Badass '78 Distortion 

So, 12 years ago MXR decided to resurrect the Marshall Guv'nor

MIAB. Marshall have re-issued this of late but this 12 year old 

take is still in production. I will not quibble whether it is better 

worse or took the bus because it forgot its lunch.

The damn thing has balz and is fatter than a world leader who 

eats at McDonalds. Not bad for $130.00 USD a pop.

 

WEEHBO JMP Drive

It is a MIAB that checks all the boxes for the guy who has that 

image of a totally in you face screaming killer Brit sound. 

But that is NOT its best feature. Just back it off a bit. Put a Strat 

in it and you hear a Strat sound that that sounds MORE Strat 

than a Strat. It has been around for eight years but I never 

got one as every time it resurfaced by just totally bad luck 

I was broke, LOL 

So in 18 days I will be 79 and I am getting this for my birthday 

... take off a 15% discount, then add shipping & the total is $208.51 

    ...it left its home in Hannover and ended up at the Montreal Canada airport for Xmas, lol.
