M-VAVE
DIG REVERB
This company (formally called Cuvave) is primarily all about passable toys for beginners and hobbyists. Like others that do the same they make the odd pedal that creeps onto the first rung of the pro ladder. One thing from a start is that the algorithm on this shows its seams. It is probably really one good sound with some digital smoke and mirrors to give you 8 more. My educated guess is it
$25.00 USD
is based off of the Plate. Reverb is made up of hundreds of reflections. In
plain English single delays that are so short that you cannot hear even a
nano silence between the note and its delayed repeat. A Plate does not
have hundreds it only has 4. Cheer up a real Spring Reverb has 2, LOL.
CONCLUSION __Every 5 years a new chip comes out and one now 10 years old becomes dirt cheap. Ten years ago this would be a Pro pedal on many players hit record and we are still listening to it without
complaining about the Verb, LOL.
I would say if you keep the Delay signal down and add just a bit
of Verb in the Mix you could leave as an always on at a gig and
fool us all.

Any recommendations in the M-wave lineup ?
ReplyDeleteI do not like the Fuzz but they are so popular they sell out even to guys without a budget. Their Distortion is passable but it is fizzy and needs a gate to fix it. The others are not bad and built like a tank. I think if they made a new line that cost around $60 they would make stuff that was as good as most pedals over $200 +. But I think they like being the gourmet of beginners pedals, not Pro.
ReplyDeleteOk. I will wait their next line of pedals
