Baroni already have a 50 watt and 100 watt pedal
amp which I reviewed.
I have mentioned that in most cases that the modern TYPE C amps everyone uses that it takes 200 watt TYPE C to match a 40 or 50 watt tube amp.
Baroni use the best parts etc. and get a bit more out of them. They claim 40 watts RMS from the 50 and 60 watts RMS from the 100 ....but that is into 4 ohms???
The new one claims to put out 200 RMS
this makes it 100 watts into 8 ohms.
It is important because the other manufacturers only give you their amp wattage into 4 ohms. No one makes 4 ohm 12' guitar speakers/cabinets
...they are 8 or 16 ohm.
So this pedal is NOT overkill though at first glance it seems so.
A inadequate pedal amp ...is cheap to build and easy to sell.
It is also a rip off as the makers know you think there 40 watt
jobbie will be not be drowned out by any drummer. But it will!!!
So if you buy one forget about using it in a band!!!
CONCLUSION
Obviously there are a lot of full size amps crowding into this price range. You have to
like the sound as well as the size. Fortunately Baroni have spent years making gourmet
tube amps even before making regular OD pedals etc. In short they make quality sh@t!
They KNOW what a good amp sounds like!
If they made a amp pedal designed to amplify a modeling pedal I would be knocking on their door money in had right know!!!
