A brilliant idea though one that should have been more obvious. Give

players a digital pedal with the classics sounds and a few of the know obvious modern takes that players will use and not fill the pedal with 3 more knobs and a hundred shoegaze/Sci Fi sounds. If needed those can be put in a different pedal. 

Add a bit of memory for the few a guy really needs for his chosen genre and again skip the elaborate MIDI thing with its 127 or more choices and even more gear and time to program them.

The layout is Width, Rate and Balance which is indeed needed, then a rotary knob to keep 6 of your own settings. A switch gives you Vibrato, Chorus and Rotary.

You get a basic bulletproof Boss CH1 Chorus sound. You can mod it into exaggerated modern sounds if needs be. A good Vibrato and the

rotary does a usable Leslie spinning speaker thing.

CONCLUSION ____

It covers all the bases, it is easy to use and it has the companies rep of over building yet charging 20% less than its competitors.
