One of the first great gourmet OD's ever made is Bjorn Juhl's BJF Dyna
Red made in 1999. The guy got hundreds of orders and couldn't keep up so he licenced the pedal to Bearfoot. At the moment you can also get one licensed to One Control from Japan for mere $265.00. OUCH!!! Or he will personally make you one for $400!!!

Caline has come to the rescue! Maybe their best clone ever.

The secret sauce of the pedal is as with most drives the sound that grabs us or drives away is in the mids. Yes you get a conventional layout until you realize the knob you thought was for bass is a special mids control. It varies both the frequency and it's width as you move the knob for either more breadth or more focus. No matter what your rig you get rich full sweet mids. 

This is part of their G-Series pedals where they have designed their own 3/4 size enclosures. These take up very little room on your board but you do not have to deal with those nano size knobs like on a mini. Also unlike a mini it is very stable to stomp on. The quality has been majorly beefed up from their standard models. 

If you didn't know you would think you were getting something like the very price J Rockett pedals. 

CONCLUSION

Damned if this isn't a little gem of an OD. Designed at the turn of the century it has been voiced to cover all that went before but still predicted the future. If you are more a hard rocker like me it is a terrific Crunch pedal. At the same time if you lean towards the 'Dumble' mind set you will not be disappointed.

It is a favorite go to online store. Why??? You get killer prices, you can find things 'no one' has. I mean no one too. The guy who owns it, Robert finds things that may be obscure but sound killer and gets a good prices then passes it on. I check out a few other stores that specialize in the really obscure brands but their prices are often around $300 or more. 

Yes I am  digressing but you really should check out the site and just browse it. I got a pedal  there I have literally been trying to get for over a year!! Add to that the shipping is not over priced and the service is instant!! The end of long waits!!!

OK, OK ... back to the pedal. This is a pedal I would recommend to a guy that was getting his first OD. Why???  It can easily slip into a lot of genres and it will not disappoint anyone. You will love it, or like it but never hate or feel disappointed.

It could be used like a Tube Screamer , pushed into a great Blues crunch yet still has lots of beef and sustains to solo with.

Anyhow Only Pedals is in Canada and the prices are posted in CAD ...but if you convert it you will find you will be saving about $5.00 USD. The pedal is cheap enough to start with so WTF at the price you can treat yourself 

even if you are not looking for an OD.
