The fist of the 'gotta have' pedals was the Rangemaster Treble
Booster. Not even a Fuzz was option it hadn't yet come out. 
The layout is simple. You get a level control and a rotary
switch with 3 distinct voices of boost.

     CONCLUSION ___ 
A good boost pedal can be magic. Some
are too colored and are really low gain,
transparent Overdrives and others are 
just a bland dead clean volume boost. 
My first impression was WOW!!

    Yes I got one on day one when they came out. It does it's thing thru some kind of synthesis and it simply sounds overlaid and totally fake. If you use it in a solo and come to an exciting part where normally you lean into your amp and pull out real feedback and make it jump to the sky and get your amp to scream ....it doesn't . It just gives you a sound as exciting as a whoopee cushion. I felt ripped off when I got it.
