FUZZ- DEVTECH AUDIO Gilmour Muff ... no comment :-)
DEVTECH AUDIO GILMOUR MUFF |
$130.00 USD
Dave Gilmour had the Triangle Big Muff and the Ramshead Big Muff.
He probably has had them all as he is a gear nut. He is most famous for the Ramshead that was at least the starting point for this one.
It has what we expect from a basic Muff Fuzz for the layout. A basic Volume, Gain and Tone. Added to the unit is switch to either boost or scoop the mids.
I expectit is there to supplement Dave's old BOSS GE-7 EQ pedal.
CONCLUSION___
It is well priced and is as convincing as most others, lol.
I lean towards the Gilmour between the two but I need neither. I may soon get the Biyang FZ-7 Muff. It has gone unchanged in over 15 years . It is even built into the old bent metal casing like all the old Muffs. I think it is roughly based on the NYC Muff made famous by Jack White and he still uses one. It was designed by Fran Blache of Frantone Pedals when she ran Electro Harmonix after it was bought back after be being bankrupt a few years by Mike Matthews. It is a very ragged in your face sound though you can tame it down enough play Hard Rock and Trash etc. it is not so ragged it can only do do shoegaze and Star Wars sound effects, lol.
This or the EHX Ram's head?
