ELECTRONIC AUDIO EXPERIMENTS
surveyor
I have never heard of the IVP or Instrument Voicing Preamp. Back in the days of a stage full of single channel Marshall stacks and a rack or two of rackmount effects this was the secret tool in the toolbox for added balz and definition.
In short it was like a spice fix your sound.
The layout is Volume, Treble, Bass and Gain. A toggle kicks
in second gain stage. The EQ is wired in pre distortion so
you can select how much lows or highs you want to
have more dirt.
CONCLUSION ___
It can be fairly argued that the pedal is adding very harsh tones.
It damn well is, lol. On its own boosting pre distortion clean boost can cause a unnatural clang. Useful as an effect but that sound stacked can be tamed into an obedient lion. The point is this is
meant to stack on other pedals or amps set with at least a good Crunch. Any mud your rig makes will be turned into a cutting
growl. All your chords and note will have instant definition.
It is a very sharp axe that can chop through anything.
