MAZA X-PLEX V.2
A company from Argentina with a few interesting pedals. Like most South American companies they either only sell and ship locally or from time to time someone tries to bring them stateside. Usually a company that caters to a Spanish or Portuguese market and even then it is treated as a sideline. At the moment Maza pedals show up here and there on Reverb and Ebay. The odd used one for maybe a third off or sometimes for a third more. Ouch!
$140.00 USD |
Pedals like this wobble even with velcro. Without it they can even tip over.
That said I will put up with anything if a pedal first sounds good and is reasonably priced.
CONCLUSION
Not too much further ahead. There were a few videos that sounded better. BUT ...no one started their demo with a clean sound WTF ...daaah! So you instantly think ...sounds great but can I see your Marshall Stack???
The first vid has a clean sound but the playing is sporadic and the guys very limited playing ability makes things a little challenging. The second has no clean sound comparison but at least there is no backing track. The sound is similar so I do not think his amp is confusing the issue. The playing is adequate and you can hear a few different sounds. My first impression is it has a very nice realistic Plexi sound. But ???
I can wait ..I do not need another Plexi but it sounds pretty good so with another video or two and a clear path for a purchase I could be very tempted.
