THE ORIGINAL 1902 GIBSON KALAMAZOO GUITAR FACTORY
In 1984 Gibson moved to Nashville but many employees that stayed behind started Heritage Guitars.
So with the entire factory outfitted with the original classic machinery and many highly skilled workers and luthiers the old school tradition of producing the best continued.
Recently they bought the rights to Harmony Guitars founded in 1892. The aim was to produce a reasonably priced guitar with Custom Shop quality. Anyone who has played
one can attest they have certainly lived up to their pledge.
So over 100 years of guitar making continues.
Poorly conceived additions attached to the original building have been recently torn down and replaced by a Restaurant, a bar and a beautiful outdoor patio area.
Renovations on the inside have modernized electrical, heating, air conditioning etc. new state the art high tech equipment has been added. The original machinery has been kept yet rebuilt where necessary. The best of the old and the best of the new.
The new mission to resurrect Harmony, continue making Heritage and allow a now steady stream of tourists a great experience has been completed.
