C. M. started out in the 90's within 10 years they were well on there way to success with a line of pedals. The most notable being the Crush Zone.
Back then no one was emulating amps. A dirt box was a dirt box.
This is no exception.
The layout is basic with a level, tone and gain. The tone is very fat, thick, chunky and aggressive. I suspect it is a modded 
Pro Co Rat. But typical of C.M. it has been refined. It is smoother and fatter without loosing any bite.
These have been reissued. 
They are made in China and kudos to C.M. they are well made using the original robust type circuit boards and sturdy case.

CONCLUSION
It is a classic sound improved without being made souless. It is cheap.It even looks cool!
But it is a damn big.lol
