A Fuzz called the Sunn Buzz was likely influenced of the Jordon Buzz Tone 

having arrived a year after it. That said it did have its own vibe sound having used 3 transistors. It made its mark in the San Francisco scene having been used by Big Brother & the Holding Co.  JDM has cloned a pedal of it called the Sunn Haze. The layout is simple with just the usual Volume, Tone and Gain.

     ___ CONCLUSION ____

It definitely has a Tone Bender V.2 vibe as it too uses 

3 transistors. It pushes past the Bender with much 

more glitching and drop outs. That certainly fit the 

era with the whole Psychedelic thing.

Basically a digital Reverb with classic and modern ambient reverb sounds and a few Delays and Modulators with a hold 

feature on a second footswitch. The layout is intuitive but 

the videos gets you up and to speed quickly. 

      ___ CONCLUSION ___

The spec needed for convincing sounds is now 

10 years old. Chips that old are old enough to 

be cheap. So these days everything is good & it 

gets down to features & the programmers that 

have an ear for what sounds great or what is 

passable but disappointing. Mooers recent 

track record for checking the right boxes 

at a reasonable price is damn impressive.

A reissue of their 2014 take on the ToneBender to capture Pages infamous Mk3. Oddly enough they say it is voiced to be a Mk2.

The layout however is like a Mk1 with a is simply Level and Gain. 

  __ CONCLUSION __

The company have a checkered past when the 2 partners 

fell out and had taken orders and not delivered nor answer 

the customers letters. The also had become the darlings of 

the 'Cork Sniffer' reviewers and evey pedal was talked 

about as if it were an original Klon, LOL. 

That said this Fuzz really is killer. They have captured 

the best of what a good Tone Bender is all about. 

The price is fair.

BUZZ TONE 

It arrived in 1966 at NAMM but not was not in the stores until '67. 

It was in the tiny box you see below that you just inserted in the 

guitars output jack.

The original company went on to making other more profitable 

electronics and abandoned the Buzz Tone. Mahoney went on to 

making it as you see it now and eventually bought the Jordon 

name so they now say Jordan on the pedal.

                  CONCLUSION __

It has its own vibe and is useable as a very effective 

boost if stacked on other dirt boxes. A few companies 

have come and gone that built OD's with this as the 

always on boost part of it.

      

... for a short time it was called the BOSS Tone 

but BOSS pedals lawyers stopped that !

The Fuzz 1 is an OpAmp Fuzz that was created by Swedish
designer Karl Eriksson. He is a freelance designer who does nearly 

all of the dirt pedals for Shenzhen Grand Technology who have handmade pedals made for many brands in China. 

As such he has through them manufacturers and/or access to parts at wholesale prices to make his own brand if he wishes to sell to supplement his income. 

This is for example what Electro Harmonix do. They design the pedals in America but the entire boards are sent as finished product to their NYC factory to be carefully inspected before being built into the enclosures. It is how they keep the prices down but the quality and reliability up 

 

If he sets up a brand who is going to know immediately? Zero! If I set up a brand 

then thousands will know in minutes. In fact 1,952 have dropped by in just last few hours. 

So he wants to sell and have me market pedals under my LENARD Re-Inventions brand. 

I said yes but only if I approve of the sound and build quality of the pedal.

As for an online store we will do what most small builders do at the onset and sell via REVERB. 

 

I have no idea how it will do. Having really small builders as friends 

they tell me 50 pedals give or take in the first year is normal so 

don't quit my day job, LOL  

 

The Fuzz will sell for $100.00 USD plus shipping. Karl tells me if this were made by most  of what's out there it would be at least $200.00 USD. Especially because of parts like the high end OpAmp. 

To be honest I see this Fuzz like a YouTuber who sells t-Shirts and Coffee cups. A way to get by without selling out to the manufacturers'.

FUZZ- JDM PEDALS Hot Plate ...Page's Tone Bender clone

 HOT PLATE    

This is a take on Jimmy Page's Tone Bender V.3 with its 

hot rod boost. Page through a Marshall was so pervasive 

many guys bought a Marshall thinking the amp with the 

pedal on was simply the natural sound of the amp. Back 

in '69 I did, LOL. The layout is Volume, Tone and Gain 

with a toggle for the Page mid boost.
