OVERDRIVE- MYTHOS Airline Drive ...love it or not it will sell out in a few days or less!

MYTHOS AIRLINE OVERDRIVE
$260.00 USD
Another of Mythos pedals that are all about keeping it simple. The best whether that is NOS vintage parts or those that are not only the best but can have the sh@t kicked out of them and survive, lol.
In this case the pedal is a very simple 2 transistor OD just short of going into a Fuzz thing.
Mythos share factory space with Nova guitars. Yes 'that' Nova guitars with a year long waiting list for your guitar. The two companies teamed up to design a dirt pedal that was complimentary to the Nova guitar 'sound' which is all about being very earthy, organic and follow the dynamics of a players touch.
CONCLUSION
Mythos are all about a pedal having character. A pedal once you own it you can hear on a live show or recording and know exactly what it is.
They certainly achieve it. The only question to ask is. "....is it my kind of sound?" It is not like picking out a MIAB where the pedal that nails the amp wins. I use both kinds of pedals.
The head f*ck is that the organic pedals beat everything. The thing is which one? It took me going thru about a dozen and many pricey to get one that was a hand in glove with vintage Fender sounds.

the fine print
....once cranked, I'm sold!
Damn!!!

GUITAR - VALIANT ...from Ukraine ____A MUST READ____

 VALIANT GUITARS UKRAINE

Yes ..Ukraine. Just outside Kyiv. They have managed to take the guitars to a safer region to finish them and then raffle off the guitars to use the money to help the dispossessed and injured.

the fine print
The difference between a player in Ukraine and one in your home town is the color of his Strat. We all listen to the same music and love the same Rock icons we even frequent the same video's and blogs.
THE BIG BUT!!
... some of us HAVE to put our guitars in their case and pick up a gun to keep our friends and family from being mercilessly murdered for nothing more than a petty dictators vision of being the superman written about in the history books of the future. In all probability this mans fate will be that of Hitler and Mussolini.
All we can do is help that day come sooner.

OVERDRIVE- STUDIO DAYDREAM Fetbox V7.2 ...a Vox-in-a-Box

STUDIOS DAYDREAM FETBOX V7.2
$190.00 USD
A Japanese company that is obsessed with making the best from whatever is best. I would not be surprised that half of the new versions out of the 7 so far have more to do with the latest new FET than a new feature.
This pedal is a take on the 2 channel VOX AC30. It has both the normal and treble channel just like the amp.
The layout is treble, bass and gain with a separate volume foot switchable for each channel.
There is an internal switch to switch the gain into a high gain circuit.
CONCLUSION
Impressive. Except for using a Hammond style 'B" box for the enclosure
designed to be sideways and use up too much space I have no lint to pick :-)

OVERDRIVE- JOYO Extreme Metal ....a big surprise !!!

JOYO EXTREME METAL

$35.00 USD
Joyo have been around for years making affordable well made reliable pedals. They are often clones, but actually very few do more or less than the hundreds of even big brands that have a Rat or a Tube Screamer or a Blues Breaker. The King Of Tone is two Bluesbreakers in a pedal that guys are now waiting 4 years to get. Yes waiting 4 years for a clone???. I am sure you get the point. There are no more than about 6 or 7 basic designs of a dirt pedals. One can not reinvent these 'wheels' only improve on them.
OK ...back to the Joyo.
You get treble, mid, bass, gain, level and boost with a second footswitch to kick it in.
It literally has what is instantly notable as "that Metal" sound that has been around since the 80's.
Note: Like Mooer, NUX and any of the better known Chinese brands Joyo make re-brands hence Harley Benton is a Joyo pedal. With re-brands nothing is 'ever' different than the color of the casings, the graphics or the style of the knobs.
CONCLUSION
I would not hesitate to use one. If your music only requires this kind of sound then I would want something high end with cascading JFETs etc.
But even then if you had this there would be tunes this just damn well worked better on. At $35.00 USD.

BOOSTER- BSM Black Box Booster ... WTF ???

$290.00 USD
BSM BLACK BOX BOOSTER
This company makes clones of every 60's/70's style booster ever made
including ones that many guys had modded like Brian May and Tony Iommi. The thing that confuses many is these treble boosters weren't treble boosting just the treble. They were boosting the upper mids that gave a Marshal it's cut and definition. Just like a Tube Screamer that pushes up the mids around 1k. They were not clean though they were not designed to deliberately give you dirt. They are really kind of transparent OD. BSM make them all and the Black Box started out as a take on the preamp in Anus Youngs first but now ancient analog wireless rig. But the maker boasts it is more than that??? Is it? If it isn't that then it is not 'Angus approved'
CONCLUSION
The price is obscene. Add $50.00 USD for shipping from Germany. It comes in a bog standard B style box, unfinished with a vinyl sticker for it's pedestrian graphics so we aren't paying for any graphics. There aren't any videos of it going thru a clean amp amp you don't get to hear even the dirty amp on the vids long enough to judge what it added ...or perhaps screwed up.
The only thing stupider than this, is me wasting your time by reviewing it.

OVERDRIVE- TSAKLIS Neve MKII Dual High Gain Distortion ...hot rod JCM 800 vibe.

$235.00 USD
TAKSALIS AUDIO WORKS
NEVE MKII
     DUAL HIGH GAIN DISTORTION
A Greek company that has been around for years have brought out their MKII version of a versatile high gain OD. You have 2 channels with both high and a medium gain in Ch. 1 and high gain in Ch. 2. You get an EQ with high, mids, lows and presence and output level for each channel. Finally a stereo jack to loop in other pedals.
CONCLUSION
Extremely versatile and reasonable priced for such versatile pedal. It has a modded JCM 800 vibe. Tight and punchy.

DELAY/REVERB- BOSS RE-2 Space Echo ___NEW___ in a standard size pedal!!!

BOSS RE-2 SPACE ECHO
$220.00 USD
In 1974 Roland brought the RE-201 Space Echo it was a tape delay and a spring reverb. Over the years there were some 6 different takes of this delay including early digital versions. With current tech the whole thing with even a few extra features can be fit in a standard pedal. You have controls for echo, reverb, repeat rate, modulation and a mode to choose from 11 basic functions. You also get stereo in and out and input for a modulation or expression pedal.
CONCLUSION
It likely will have a big impact with any but those converted to tape only.
The Boss indeed sounds good, is easy to use and has all the original features. Its size, ease of use, and it's big cool factor are a bonus. The reverb in it is impressive maybe not exciting but for guys like me that use a verb and delay as always on it makes it easier to see it as two pedals. For many the price is not an issue but I find these days with taxes and shipping anything over $200.00 USD is a really heavy purchase. With $220, tax and shipping its $300, Ouch!!!
WTF ...I ordered one!!!

Review and tutorial
video

WHY NOT THE RE-202 ?

On the same day Boss released a total bells and whistles large version the BOSS Space Echo. The 202 at $400.00 USD.
The only noticeable difference is the 'saturation' control that adds a bit of distortion and is cool when tinkering with it but in a band context it adds mud. even guys with the original stayed away from it. Anything else in the sound is more perceived than fact.
If nothing but on a practical level if one wants a basic tape style delay sound there are good ones on Digital Delays that covers everything from Tape Echo thru to a pedal to use on a sound track for the next Star War movie for the price.  Why pay big bucks for a tape echo pedal that has extras that were never on real tape echos? Even if you get the 202 you may find you still need a modern Digital Delay . If so why have the monster size 202 eating all that space on your board ???

the fine print
Many know my pedalboard is wired up to be 3 separate boards. As such each board has a delay and verb. My best sounding board of the 3 uses the Dunlop Echoplex so if I were to use the Boss on another I would expect it to be as effective.
The RE-2  has it's own Verb. So the Boss could replace a Neunaber Verb, J Rockett analog Delay and a Flamma digital Delay.
It will free up board space & pay back a nice chunk of my outlay.
So I ordered one.

OVERDRIVE- FROST GIANT ELECTRONICS Architect of Reality ... a Laney Pro Tube Lead Amp-in-a-Box

FROST GIANT ELECTRONICS ARCHITECT OF REALITY
$250.00 USD
A new amp-in-a-box of any amp is a welcome pedal. Laney brought out the
Pro Tube series in the late 80's and were really just a hot rodded Marshall JCM 800. The 50 watt and 100 watt versions in the AOR series were not to my surprise the hot ones. I believe they were a little cheaper and once used were affordable to many up and coming Metal players. So it would not be unfair to call this pedal a JCM 800 pedal but with more gain and a few extra options. To set it up closer to a more JCM 800 sound is definitely possible but not your best choice of MIAB for that.
It has 2 channels. The first has preamp, bass, mids, treble and gain that gives you  something closer to a classic style crunch but this pedal is really about the second channel which adds more gain for massive dirt and saturation. Each band of EQ allows you to boost it separately by the toggle under it. Finally there is an overall output level. A footswitch allows you to add the second channel.
CONCLUSION
It sounds impressive. It has an 'authentic tube" sound. It has plenty of headroom so even when totally saturated the real amp sound hangs in and it doesn't become a Fuzz. It is really about a heavy Doom like sound but without sacrificing a tube type vibe.
It sets out to really just one thing really well. It damn well succeeds. Love it!

FUZZ- GREEN BEAR GUITAR PEDALS Lavaredo Octave Fuzz ...this year everyone is making one

GREEN BEAR GUITAR PEDALS LAVAREDO OCTAVE FUZZ

$185.00 USD
The thing about any sub Octave pedal is they have serious low end that makes even a modest one sound pretty impressive. This is no exception.
You get the standard volume, gain and tone but with this one you also get a boost. The graphics are cool which is nice.
I find these Fuzz pedals are high gain and I for one would never have the damn boost off. If it did not have one the pedal would be in a standard casing not taking up real estate on your board. It would also be cheaper to build. Maybe cheaper to buy too.
CONCLUSION
Does it sound good. Yes is certainly does but like I have said many times the Solidold 76 is massive, meaner and has more balz. At $175.00 USD it is great value for money There are several others heading towards $300 that are not better.

Compare for yourself!

DELAY- LINE6 DL4 MkII ____ NEW____ after 15 years a new DL4 !!!!

LINE 6 DL4 MkII Delay

$300.00 USD
In 1999 Line6 brought out a pedal with multiple delays several that were the first ever ambiance types that new player could afford. This delay became crucial to even doing the tunes it was used for after ending up on endless recordings. Even though the tech was surpassed again and again the damn thing had it's own vibe just like a 60's Fuzz that just kept it going. Line6 were smart when they took the attitude that if it isn't broke don't fix it. We now have an endless choice of delays. The thing is many if not most take a rocket scientist to get a great sound in a hurry. So I think the new DL4 is timed perfectly. The spec is contemporary even if not state of the
art but it has great sounds that are instantly accessible.
CONCLUSION
No manual required. Count me in!

OVERDRIVE- LPD PEDALS 109 degree Distortion ____ NEW today Mar.24 ___ Killer Hardclipper!!!

LPD PEDALS 109 DISTORTION

$200.00 USD
Any new LPD is much anticipated. The LPD EIGHTY 7, SIXY 8 and SEVENTY 4 are the MIAB pedals each representing a classic Marshall amp are beyond killer and are the yardstick that all other MIAB pedals are measured against. They have it all. They are rich with harmonics and detail, with excellent response.
I have little detail of the pedal beforehand other than it is a 70, 80's style hard clipper like the Rat and Boss DS-1. Lawrence's pedals are never clones in that they always have his unique stamp of magic. It is never that they just sound good it is that in a band they never get lost in the mix or even totally take over.
CONCLUSION
Count me in!!!
The damn thing is has a sprinkle of Rat but more of a Boss SD-1 on steroids. It has the LPD of tone at all cost. But it's obvious punch and balz are thru the roof!!!
So count me in!!!

FUZZ- FLATTLEY Poison Ivy Fuzz ...impressive ...BUT?

FLATTLEY POISON IVY FUZZ
$295.00 USD
This is their take on the old Uni-Vox Octave Fuzz. There are of course many, many, many. To be specific it is a harmonic Octave Fuzz which gives you a faux sub octave that is the big ingredient in Doom Metal and other various sub genres.
It has the usual gain and level but also gives you a switch for two voices. One is an exaggerated low very 'Doomy' sound and the other is bright with punchy mids. Both have a lot of definition. The definition is definitely the key feature.
CONCLUSION
It is definitely a great sounding Fuzz which has it's own vibe. But personally I prefer the SolidGold FX 76. It has more of a scooped sound with massive lows much and is fatter then fat yet it's still tight ...the price is $175.00 USD
the fine print
You just have to compare them!

GUITAR- GIBSON Theodore ___NEW___JUST RELEASED___ 1957 Theodore

 GIBSON THEODORE

In '57 Gibson wanted to design a new totally fresh and modern guitar. They came up with the Flying V, and the Explorer that were released, but the Moderne was not. Neither was the Theodore. That changed today. It has an alder body with a walnut center strip and a mahogany neck. Except for the double Florentine cutaways it has a basic LP Special vibe with P90 PU's and a wraparound bridge.

$5000.00 USD 😳

CONCLUSION
WTF !!!! It has the exact same specs as their entry level SG for PU's, tuners and electronics. That same SG has a more expensive mahogany body and a Graph Tech nut not a nylon one. The SG sells for $1500.00 USD.
I repeat ...WTF !!! Not all Gibson buyers are mentally challenged.

_____JIMI'S PEDALS___ NOT TO MISS VIDEO!!! ___

JIMI'S PEDALS
Nobody goes thru more than Josh Scott researching and buying up all the vintage 60's pedals. His history of what really used is the most accurate we have.
This is a 'not to miss' video.

DELAY- NUX NDD-7 Tape Echo- ___NEW___ a take on the Roland Space Echo

NUX NDD-7 TAPE ECHO
$200.00 USD
This is the just released second take for NUX who still do the Tape Core DeLuxe that very much impressed me too. (see below) Both are quite simply a take on the the '74 Roland Space Echo, a multi head tape delay with a spring reverb. The new one is more comprehensive and is designed to be user friendly. The layout has treble, bass, time, repeat and select to control tape saturation, wow & flutter, level and reverb. Add to that a footswitch to control self oscillation. Finally an editor window makes editing and set up very easy.
CONCLUSION
When cloning something like a mechanical tape machine one can argue for and against how well it was done but in the end you have to decide if the unit sounds great or not. I have the Dunlop Echo-Plex and I once owned the tube/valve real one. EVH used the second generation transistor one and it was a big part of his sound. Even he too in later years used the Dunlop for two reasons. In context it does not sound noticeably different
and it just plain sounds great. A big thanx to Dave Friedman who put me
onto it. The NUX does indeed sound really good. For a digital
unit it is unusually fat and rich sounding.

The NUX Tape Core Deluxe
has it's extras programmable by your computer
and at $95.00 USD with free shipping on AliExpress
is worth considering.

AMPLIFIER- BOSS KANTANA BASS AMPS___NEW___VERY NEW___ Yes! Bass amps

BOSS KANTANA BASS AMPS

BOSS KANTANA 110
$400.00 USD
The Boss Katana guitar amps are perhaps the best selling amps on the planet. They are modelling amps.  Modelling which when totally Pro needs big bucks for high end chips and voicings with complex algorithms. They got around this by designing in some serious solid state preamp design. Think of it as modest but good sounding amp but with lots of excellent Boss pedals built in. Entry level and hobbyist love these amps because whatever sound you hear on your favorite recordings the Katana does a good job of mimicking them.
The bass amps have taken a similar approach. You can have all the effects but they have made sure the basic guts of the amp has enough dynamic range and heft.

BOSS KANTANA 210
$650.00 USD

The most important thing they did was dispense with the modern Type C amp design format. The amp is a classic Type AB build. Both tube amps and vintage transistor amps use this format. So what's the big difference in sound? In one word such amps have BALZ!!!!! Serious punch and headroom for dynamics.
They do 2 models a 60 Watt, 110 and a 160 watt, 210. The smaller has 1x10" speaker and the 210 has two. Unless you play a Country, Jazz or Folk/Alt kind of thing the 50 watt won't cut it. If it's Rock get the 160 watt. Until they build a volume control into a drummer you will need it.
Basic features are 3 voicings. Mid Scoop Bright and Extended Range. You get 4 way EQ, a compressor and 2 sections of FX and storage for 8 presets.

CONCLUSION
At 75 I have played in bands for decades so trust me. These amps may seem a little pricey coming from Boss but they are Type AB amps. To get the kind of punch fro your typical Type C amp you would probably need 500 watts from the Kantana 210.
If these amps weren't classic AB I probably would not have made this Post because in my book they would be toys. if you are buying toys I have no advice. What does it matter? If you are playing for a bit of fun why waste your Video game money?
I have a classic AB, 1983 Peavey Bandit 65 ...50 watt solid state. I keep it for backup for my 50 watt Plexi when I gig. The damn thing is 39 years old. It still sounds great. It still kicks butt!

FUZZ- ALLEN EXLEY CLASSIC FX Reactor Fuzz ...old school with twist

ALLEN EXLEY FX REACTOR FUZZ
$200.00 USD
Ol' Allen is the go to guy for all things vintage. Especially Brit guitars and
Hofner gear. Needless to say vintage pedals as well. He has a take on several. He is all about keeping the best of the old and adding things that make them usable to the players of today.
The Reactor has more or less a fixed but killer voice but it can be turned on its head by what is basically a sweepable band pass filter. It changes the resonant point anywhere across the mids. So in short you only need it's two controls. A mid sweep and level. The idea is simple but the results are killer. You can fatten the sound or push thru the mix in any band. Oddly it is all you need to have the kind of control a modern OD gives you with what is noticeably a 60's Fuzz.
CONCLUSION
Just damn impressive. The sound is excellent and the industrial vibe of the enclosure and reasonable price just screams 'buy me!"

OVERDRIVE -Vntage Tone Black Vertigo ....Plexi with an attitude

VNTAGE TONE  BLACK VERTIGO
$130.00 USD
A new company enters the scene from Mexico making handmade pedals doing the classics and a few of there own. They use good quality new and some NOS vintage parts. The Vertigo is there take on a Brit like pedal. It has the basic voice of the classic 100 watt Super Lead Plexi but it is much harsher. Fortunately harsher in a good way, lol. Kind of a half Rat, half Plexi vibe.
The layout is volume, tone, gain and presence. The standard type Hammond enclosure is
covered in an embossed vinyl for a tooled leather look.
Conclusion
It sounds damn good in hardclipper sort of way. The price is fair.

GUITAR-FENDER METEORA HH 2022 ___NEW___ investment property!

 FENDER METEORA HH 2022

Not totally new except for perhaps the Strat whammy. It has new/old Seth Lover '71 Wide Range PU's that they named the Fireballs. Definitely redesigned as the magnets are no longer available. They added some more output but still kept the vibe intact. The neck is C shaped maple or maple w/Pau Ferro fretboard with jumbo frets and a 12 inch(Gibson like) radius. It has a Strat whammy and locking tuners. The body is good ol' Alder.
The body style is unique but totally Fender. Jazz Master-ish but not weird.
For the neigh stayers I am 75 and every guitar Fender brought out from the get go was trashed, so join a long line of the sheep that said Baaaaah-ed. BIG But!! If you own any early model you have all you need for your retirement fund. So at $1150.00 it will end up being a steal in the coming years. The same money in gold won't come close.

THE FINE PRINT
I feel this guitar is the perfect candidate to throw another
hundred at it for a set of Wilkinson WLS130/S locking
saddles. They are near invisible to the eye and at most
need a GraphTech nut to make the whammy perform like
a Floyd in all but the really, really crazy stuff!!!

FUZZ- HAGERMAN AMPLIFICATION Fuzz ...serious gourmet Fuzz Face ...cheap!

HAGGERMAN AMPLIFICATION FUZZ
$120.00 USD
Ol' Jim Hagerman has a stellar rep for high end killer quality amps among the Audiophile crowd.
So when he does anything it gets done right.
The big surprise is it is affordable. No let me correct that, for what you get it's cheap. Then add to that he only charges $20.00 USD for international shipping. He lives in Hawaii so I put this all down to the weather, lol.
The Fuzz is a classic Fuzz Face but with a buffer not unlike a Boss pedal. In short you can use it anywhere on your board without a hassle. Yes those round Dunlop jobbies have a big bad surprise in store for any newbie.
The final touch is using the extra, extra heavy duty Hammond type casing. You can even attach it straight to your board if you like. Best of all it looks dead cool, lol.
CONCLUSION
Pretty much a bullet proof choice. It's a 'Must Have' for any guy without a Fuzz. Even if you are an OD's only guy you can't go thru life never owning a Fuzz. I was an OD's only guy. What an A. hole I was, lol.

OVERDRIVE- SOLIDGOLD FX Commodore ___NEW___ another BluesBreaker?

SOLIDGOLD FX COMMODORE OVERDRIVE

$200.00 USD
Yes just released today.
If it seems like every week I am reviewing a new Bluesbreaker pedal then you are 100% correct! It all started with the King of Tone with two Bluesbreakers in a box. The basic BB is a simple enough circuit but a very clever design. The JHS Morning Glory is the companies biggest selling pedal and the list is endless. The thing is you can mess with EQ and or the clipping diodes and you get a pedal distinctive enough to call your own. You can keep it even more transparent than the original or you can push it into a near Marshall-in-a Box territory.
Solid gold went for the medium OD more pushed part of the original neglecting a focus on the low gain aspects then added even more gain and then added a variable frequency mid contour.
Their last hot pedal from literally a year ago is the Imperial MKII Fuzz that introduced there new slider box. For a long time pedal makers were using small boxes to fit more pedals on a board. Ideal for portability but the market for hobbyists is bigger and a few makers have done the slider thing and found they could really push up the price and  still sell a sh@t load.
They are not only easy to dial in ..they are fun.
CONCLUSION
Well it it has it's own vibe though it sounds lost as what it is trying to be.
Is it for Blues?. If so wheres some attention to a bit more detailed transparency? Is it for more of a hard Rock early Metal thing? If so it needs more punch, balz and breadth. As is it is a one size fits all. If so a guy can get a Boss SD-1 to do that for $60.00 USD and the damn thing will fit on your board.
Finally recent pedals that have been making the most waves are the better transparent versions. I feel the best of these is the Browne Amplification Carbon which I have. It is the gods answer for a Strat OD.

MODELER- AMPLITUDE X-Drive ...I hate modelers ...so why do I like this ???

AMPLITUDE X-DRIVE OD

I am a tube amp guy because modelers quite simply do not even come close to the capturing the nuance of both the sound and the dynamics of a tube amp from your touch. Add to that pedals are cheap enough not to want second place digital clones.
Modelers work well when recording because when recorded even a real amp is going be processed to no end and end up sounding like it came straight from a modeler anyways, lol.
The detail in high end amp models has been exceptionally clear and detailed even a few years ago. The low end gear had all the modelling problem plus a lo-fi sound. Do to new even better chips arriving the ones in those from just a few years back but still used in low to mid range are unacceptable.
In short a unit like the Amplitude will give you more than what was the high end sonic spec just two years ago cheap. To put it another way the difference in sound from a Quad Cortex or an Axe FX on a recording is negligible. In the context of an an actual tune it is simply not even there.  Imperceptible, period!
The high end stuff does have better touch sensitivity nuance. That is a very complex thing and will not come cheap. The high end stuff gives you more choice of sounds and most offer every effect on the universe.
Do you NEED a thousand choices of the best amps? No you only need a few high end sounding ones.

$330.00 USD
So what do you get from the Amplitude? A few great amp sounds with a high end spec. What about the mid price stuff like Helix??? They cost more and use amateur tech old chips which are now consider lo-fi.
I personally can live with this because in a few years I can toss it without feeling I was a sucker to buy planned obsolescence or maybe just use it for a headphone practice amp.
CONCLUSION
To the human ear on a recording you either think you are hearing the real deal or a $2000 modeler.
Even if you gig with a real amp it is a dirt cheap backup. If you have a serious gig with a big sound system with a guy on the board you can use your amp but split a cable to the Amplitude to give him a line out instead of using a mic. In a few years the new modelers will make today's the high end stuff harder to sell than a Yoko Ono record.
The bottom line if nothing else you get a versatile OD for a more than reasonable price.

OVERDRIVE- DUSKY ELECTRONICS Toasted Drive ... between the very old & the very new

DUSKY ELECTRONICS TOASTED DRIVE
$175.00 USD
If it's pricey and an Amp-in-box it most certainly is using JFET transistors as they best imitate tubes and are now found in chips often with 2 or more etc. Between JFETS and old school germanium and silicon transistors we got the MOSFET. It has it's own charm as it has an earthiness of the old school transistors but that near tube like thing of the JFETS. It sounds like a really cool vintage fuzz going thru an old Brit amp kind of sound. If done well such OD's have a ton of character.
Conclusion
After 6 years in production and mostly selling by word of mouth says a lot. Not even inevitable V.2
From lower transparent gain you get a clean but earthy boost and really high headroom and even more if you opt for an 18v adapter. Even when pushed into a healthy Crunch the voice of the guitar comes through. Everything these days boasts the same, some deliver but all want twice the price.
